NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM

ICE RINK

ROLE:  Event Director

EMPLOYER:  WME/IMG

YEAR:  2009-2017

LOCATION:  London, UK

The Natural History Museum Ice Rink is one of the UK's most popular seasonal attractions, with 450,000 visitors coming to bask in the spectacular surroundings of London's Natural History Museum underneath 76,000 twinkling fairy lights.

A traditional Victorian fairground carousel and second floor Cafe overlooking the ice rink are accessible to the public, and the rink itself operates for 12 weeks during November, December and early January.

As Event Director, I led the project management liaising with the Natural History Museum and managed an internal team of event production, marketing, sales and accounting professionals. I took the lead on negotiating complex sponsor deals and managing the onsite integration of partners, and ensured continued financial growth through increases in ticket sales and non-core revenue streams. These included revenue generating deals with catering partners, photographers and retail stores.
