ABOUT ME

I am an expert in integrated project delivery for events and digital media. I also consult in the areas of business operations, go-to-market strategy, and provide transaction support services for M&A.

I work with sports, media and entertainment properties, cultural institutions, tourism destinations, agencies, b2b, and consumer brands.

 

Dan’s career in events extends more than fifteen years working at the highest level of sports, media, and entertainment events globally.

Originally from the UK, Dan graduated in theatre performance from the University of Leeds. He worked for the global entertainment company IMG where he headed numerous large-scale productions as Director of Events. Many of these are recognized around the world, including London's Natural History Museum Ice Rink, Winter Wonderland, the global Taste Festivals franchise, and the Indian Premier League (IPL) Tournament, whose TV audience reaches more than 700m people.

After leaving IMG in 2017, Dan moved to the US where he worked as a freelance consultant for brands, agencies, and major event organizers. During this time, he led media and events projects for Universal Music, Taylor Swift, IMG, the Democratic National Convention, Live Nation, PUMA and Google. Additionally, Dan worked with several clients to head up change management projects - including the creation of an internal experiential agency team for global event provider, PSAV.

Aside from his day-to-day work, Dan serves as Adjunct Professor of Event Management at the George Washington University, teaching post-graduate students subjects including event risk management, production of mega-events, event marketing, and event ticketing. He is also studying for an MBA, having been accepted to Warwick University’s Distance Learning MBA program (ranked #1 globally by the Financial Times).

Dan lives in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia He focuses on projects in the Middle East and Europe, serves as a board advisor to two East African event start-ups, and spends his spare time exploring Africa.
