Lusail Winter Wonderland​

Lusail Winter Wonderland in Doha, Qatar is a 150,000 sq/m temporary theme park, on the prestigious Al Maha island.

For the inaugural year, I was engaged by IMG to design, build and operate two of the largest attractions on site: a 1,000 sq/m outdoor ice rink and a 50m long ice slide.

Starting with a basic footprint, I tapped into my network of creative resources to lead the design and produce detailed 3D renders of the attractions. I produced ticket models and financial projections, and over several months led the planning, contracting and coordination of suppliers.

A staff of around 40 people were trained from scratch, including duty managers, skate exchange personnel and ice marshals. Daily operating procedures were implemented to quickly standardize the day-to-day running.

Lusail Winter Wonderland opened to the public on November 15th 2022 for a 6-month live period.
